Water-activated tape, otherwise known as gummed tape dispensers, generates an immediate, strong bond resulting in a superior seal on corrugated cartons. Starch based adhesives are applied to reinforced paper stripping that becomes active when wet. A water-activated tape dispenser provides a simple and fast way to size, wet and cut water-activated tape for closing corrugate cartons.

Most pressure-sensitive tapes take time to develop a “destructive” bond when applied to a porous substrate surface. Water-activated tapes bond instantly to both virgin and recycled fiber (corrugated carton, paper, etc.) surfaces and therefore, generate an immediate destructive bond resulting in a tamper evident package.

Your tape is no longer dead real estate, you can personalize it with a logo and QR code; bringing brand messaging to the real estate on your box. Various grades of water activated tape that will coincide with the weight of your boxes: the heavier the box, the higher grade tape. The fibers in the tape dictate the strength of the seal.
